As this message in Hebrews closes, we are reminded of our actions: to be hospitable, to remember those in prison, to honor marriage, toimitate their (our leaders) faith”. Then a few more things at the conclusion, Waebrania 13:15-19 tooffer upthe fruit of our lips that confess his name”, “do not neglect doing good and generosity”, “obey your leadersso they can do this (keep watch over your souls) with joy”, na “pray for usto conduct ourselves commendably in every wayand these are all good instruction.

But tucked in the middle in Hebrews 13:9 there is this statement, “Do not be carried away by various and strange teachingswhich those who participate have not benefited”. The world is full of ideas. There are a lot of things that people believe and say, but not all of them have any value for your life. Don’t waste your time on those things that can’t and won’t help you.

The Eternal Covenant

Waebrania 13:20–25
It isthe God of peacein Hebrews 13:20 thatbrought up from the dead our Lord Jesuswho will, in Hebrews 13:21 “equip you with every good thing to do his will, carrying out in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ”. This message concludes withbear with my word of exhortation”, take hold of it, let it encourage you so that you rise up and fulfill all that God has planned for you.

The City of the Living God

Waebrania 12:22–29
There isn’t any better way to describe this, or any words I have to expound. This is our place, our family, our kingdom.

Waebrania 12:22–24 (LEB) But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of angels, to the festal gathering 23 and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous people made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better than Abel’s does.

What once cried out from the earth for justice, the blood of Abel, has been silenced. Now, we have the blood of forgiveness that rings out our freedom. But there is a warning, everything that can be shaken, will be. And not just shaken, but removed as it says in Hebrews 12:28. And not just on earth, but also in heaven. He (Yesu) has for us an unshakeable, enduring, kingdom.

The Lord is My Helper

Waebrania 13:1–9
As this message closes, we are reminded in Hebrews 13:1-5 to be hospitable, to remember those in prison because we also may be mistreated as they are, to honor our marriage because God still wants a godly seed and a witness to the world. It is in these things that the world sees the love of God in us. And that love is also shown in Hebrews 13:5 by ourbeing content with what you have”. Then we are admonished in Hebrews 13:7 toremember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to youimitate their faith”.

And in Hebrews 13:9 there is a bit, for me, of an odd statement, “Do not be carried away by various and strange teachingswhich those who participate have not benefited”. There are a lot of things that people believe and say, but not all of them have any value for your life. Don’t waste your time on those things that don’t help you.

Offer Up A Sacrifice Of Praise

Waebrania 13:10–19
It says in Hebrews 13:10 “we have an altarbut as is described in the next few lines, it is outside the camp, it is not valued by the world. But it goes on to say in Hebrews 13:14bwe seek the city that is to come”. Then in Hebrews 13:15-19 there is action for us to take:
– “offer upthe fruit of our lips that confess his name
– “do not neglect doing good and generosity
– “obey your leadersso they can do this (keep watch over your souls) with joy
– “pray for usto conduct ourselves commendably in every way

Things Which Must Take Place

Ufunuo 1:1–3
This book, declares from the very beginning in Revelation 1:1 that it is about the work God is doing, and will do, through Jesus Christ. This is a testimony, just as the gospels and Acts are of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Ufunuo 1:3 offers a blessing tothose who hearand observe”. It isn’t enough to just hear, we always need to incorporate what we have heard into our actions for this life.

The Alpha and the Omega

Ufunuo 1:4–8
Ufunuo 1:4-8 describes the Lord, theAll Powerful” na “Jesus Christ the faithful witnessand theseven spirits (the churches) who are before his throne”. These are the things Jesus had started to tell his disciples in Matt 24. We are all together as Jesus said in John 17:20-26, “I made known to them your name, and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I may be in them.”

The Son of Man

Ufunuo 1:9–20
The description of John’s vision begins in Revelation 1:9-20. He was told in Revelation 1:11 “what you see, write in a book and send it”. God operates in this way, the revelation given because an action is needed. Then in Revelation 1:12-18 John see’s Jesus who repeats the instruction, “write the things …” but with additional description. These arethe things which are, and the things which are about to take place”. Then in Revelation 1:20 Jesus clarifiesthe mystery”, “seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven lamp stands are the seven churches”.
